Green pioneering
Industrial designer Ton Haas created Kwart, a design that perfectly reflects his vision of durability and elegance. The goal: a lightweight chair, versatile, yet ironclad.
Ton analyzed the life cycle and drew inspiration for his design from it. The result is a chair with an eco-footprint of just €0.25, by far the lowest among all chairs currently available on the market. An appropriate name was quickly found.
But Quartz not only sounds good - it lives well. Every reason for us to embrace the design and reintroduce it to a wider audience.
Stronger together
Quart consists of two types of residual streams: recycled polypropylene, obtained from bumpers, caps, toys and trays, among other things, and wood fibers generated as a waste product at a local sawmill. After a careful sorting process, we combine these residual streams. By grinding and fusing the materials, Kwart is created: a chair composed of 70% plastic and 30% wood fiber.
The road to efficiency.
The injection molding technique allows us to work in an efficient and cost-effective manner, minimizing product waste. We heat regranulate and inject it under high pressure into our pre-formed mold. After cooling, Quart is ready to conquer the world. With minimal use of raw materials and energy, this technique helps us further towards a greener future.

Coming full circle
Need something else? Return your product to one of our return locations: we will use the material to make new products from it, and you will receive €10.00 euro return for the Quarter, €20.00 return for the Rex (with/without backrest), €35.00 return for the Scala (armchair & sofa), €50.00 return for Ethy and €55.00 return for the Rex table (any size).
