Masterful camouflage
Ethy stoel

A worthy finale
Atribute to a lifetime of design.
Designer Just Meijer has been in the business since 1960. Now, in his eighties, he thought it was time for a masterpiece-his last project, and perhaps his most personal ever. A circular design that keeps coming back to life: Ethy.
For this special project, we gave Just carte blanche. No frameworks, no guidelines-only the freedom to fully express his own signature. Straightforwardness is at the core of his work: the unhindered continuation of lines in buildings and spaces. Ethy connects seamlessly to this, flowing into any sleek interior as if it was always there.
But Ethy is more than just visual perfection. The seemingly thin seat turns out to be surprisingly comfortable-a smart move by the master, who created unprecedented seating comfort with a subtle construction trick. And the flexible backrest effortlessly follows your body, for a relaxation you wouldn't expect with such a sleek design.
Ethy is timeless. A powerful design that is both sturdy and inviting. A nod to Just's life's work and a lasting reminder of his love for the craft.
Cut from the right wood
Our Ethy is made from PEFC-certified oak or beech wood, directly from sustainable German forests. The PEFC label ensures long-term environmental interests, such as preventing soil erosion and biodiversity loss. Also, growing trees absorb CO2, making Ethy not only sustainable but also reducing greenhouse gases. In consultation with the local forest manager, trees that have completed their task are selected and further processed. This makes Ethy more than a piece of furniture; it is the perfect complement to a sustainable future.

Strong, stronger, Ethy
Ethy is strong and flexible thanks to a technique that cuts tree trunks into thin sheets. These "wood sheets" are compressed into an eleven-ply, sturdy back and seat, so sturdy that both the seat and back do not warp. This is just one of Ethy's many clever tricks; Just also found a way to make the seat both thin and comfortable. The completely solid base, with no screws and clever joints, ensures that only a minimal amount of glue is needed in production - water-based, of course.

Something for everyone
Ethy's accommodating character makes it the pacesetter in any situation, from reception areas and dining rooms to conference rooms. Although Ethy wears clear lacquer as standard, you have your choice of many stain colors. The covers for the back and seat are easy to change and wash, making Ethy last for generations, living up to its name. Are the circular fabrics "used up," and ready for a new life? No problem! Because they are made from recycled raw materials, they are fully recyclable and we keep the material in the chain.
