Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.

The Stedelijk draws attention to the greatest challenge of our time: the climate crisis.

The exhibition It's Our F***ing Backyard shows that designers can make an important difference: they make us look at materials radically differently with innovative experiments or by drawing on local knowledge and offer us design that is both responsible and aesthetic, comfortable and accessible. The eighty selected projects by designers and companies from all over the world provide an overview of various strategies to achieve better use of materials. The exhibition also examines how soil depletion is linked to the practices of colonialism, which are still perpetuated by some multinationals.
