Aluminium can be reused over and over without losing its strength. Common items like cans are melted down with relatively little energy and transformed into something new. This flexibility and ease of use make aluminium a perfect candidate for innovative design. Used for the Rex table legs.

In the Netherlands, more than 1.2 million mattresses are dropped off at recycling centers, which we process into usable furniture foam.

Comfort foam for our seating furniture is made from foam sourced from old mattresses and offcuts from the (furniture) industry.

Upcycling is the process of transforming textile waste that would otherwise be discarded into functional products. The DenimX process is as simple as it is clever. We press a carefully curated blend of textile fibers and bio-based plastics into sheets, which can then be molded on a large scale into three-dimensional products. The versatility of DenimX allows the material to be tailored to the aesthetic and technical requirements of clients in virtually any market. The composition of this fiber-reinforced material can be optimized for its specific application: rigid or flexible, strong, lightweight, thick, or thin. Decorative prints, embossed logos, various backing layers, and honeycomb structures can also be integrated, as can reflective foils and woven textures. This creates additional functionalities, such as light reflection, increased strength, and rigidity, all while maintaining a low weight. Furthermore, the DenimX production process can be applied to compositions using other base fibers, such as polyester, polyester-cotton blends, PE, PP, hemp, bamboo, flax, or wool. The binder used to hold the textile fibers together can also vary, ranging from bio-based PLA to PP, PE, PES, and other transparent plastics. Each composition offers a unique look, feel, and set of functional properties, and can be developed based on the specific requirements of the client and the product.

Nylon 6 is manufactured from fossil fuels, resulting in greenhouse gas emissions and the depletion of natural resources. Our use of recycled nylon 6, sourced from fishing nets, carpets, and post-consumer products, allows us to produce high-quality products after processing and sorting the colorless pellets. For every ton of regenerated ECONYL® nylon, we save seven barrels of crude oil. Recycling carpets can have a positive impact on our world, but it requires everyone's contribution to this change.

Recycled Polypropylene (PP) is strong, dimensionally stable, and excellent for injection molding. We use exclusively recycled PP, sourced from post-consumer waste streams such as household plastic, bottle caps, discarded toys, and textiles. All these materials are extracted from a broad stream of residual waste, then sorted by color and processed into regranulate. To increase strength and durability, we enrich this granulate with 10% glass fiber—a byproduct of the glass industry. The result is a high-quality injection molding pellet that we use for various components. Application at Circuform: Kwart & Muta.

What is EPS? EPS (Expanded Polystyrene), also known as Styrofoam, is a lightweight, white polystyrene foam. Originally developed for insulation, it is now also widely used as protective packaging material.

The Netherlands is covered in mountains of artificial turf that have reached the end of their lifespan and are no longer suitable for play. We take that plastic and transform it, turning a football pitch you run on into a bench or armchair you can lean back in. The strong, long fibers are perfectly suited for the Scala series, creating a sturdy, seamless piece of furniture that can withstand any weather. Used for the Scala series.

Concrete reinforcement or furniture components? We give recycled steel a new purpose. The steel we use comes from steel recycling and would normally end up in the concrete industry—a dead end, as it disappears from the circular loop forever. We think that’s a waste. That’s why we use this steel for something that lasts: the bases of our chairs.

These upholstery fabrics are collected locally in Denmark, combined, and compressed under high pressure. The heat and pressure released during this process transform the soft fabrics into a hard board with a base and top layer. It is so durable that you are guaranteed a tabletop that will not warp and is resistant to scratches. This material is used for the Rex tabletops. Available in various colors and sizes.
